🌟 General Questions
What is szyfrownik.com?
Szyfrownik.com is a professional online cryptography service that provides free tools for encoding and decoding various classical ciphers and steganographic techniques. Our platform is designed for educational purposes, cryptography enthusiasts, and anyone interested in secret codes.
Is the service completely free?
Yes, absolutely! All our cryptographic tools are completely free to use. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or premium features. We believe that knowledge of cryptography should be accessible to everyone.
Do I need to create an account?
No registration required! You can use all our tools immediately without creating an account. This ensures your privacy and makes the tools accessible to everyone instantly.
🔒 Security & Privacy
Is my data safe?
Absolutely! All cryptographic operations are performed locally in your browser. Your text never leaves your device, ensuring complete privacy and security. We don't store, transmit, or have access to any of your input data.
Can I use the tools offline?
Yes! Our application is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means you can install it on your device and use basic cipher functions even without an internet connection.
Do you collect any personal information?
We only collect minimal analytics data (like page views) to improve our service. We never collect or store the text you enter into our tools. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
🛠️ How to Use the Tools
How do I decode a cipher?
1. Go to the Ciphers page
2. Select "Decode" operation
3. Choose the cipher type you think was used
4. Enter the encrypted text
5. Adjust settings if needed (like Caesar cipher shift)
6. The result appears automatically!
How do I encode text?
1. Select "Encode" operation
2. Choose your preferred cipher type
3. Enter your plain text
4. Configure cipher parameters (if applicable)
5. Copy the encrypted result
What if I don't know which cipher was used?
Try different cipher types systematically. Start with common ones like Caesar cipher or ROT13. Look for patterns in the encrypted text - for example, if you see dots and dashes, it's likely Morse code. Numbers in pairs might indicate a Polybius square.
🔐 Cipher-Specific Questions
What shift value should I use for Caesar cipher?
The most common shift value is 3 (used by Julius Caesar), but any value from 1-25 is possible. If you're decoding an unknown Caesar cipher, try common values like 3, 13 (ROT13), or use trial and error.
How does Morse code work in your tool?
Use dots (.) and dashes (-) for Morse code. Separate letters with spaces and words with forward slashes (/). For example: "... --- ..." represents "SOS".
What is the Fractional cipher?
The Fractional cipher divides the alphabet into groups and represents each letter as a fraction (position in group / group number). You can adjust the group size from 2 to 26 letters per group.
🎭 Steganography
What is steganography?
Steganography is the art of hiding secret messages within innocent-looking text or media. Unlike encryption, which makes text unreadable, steganography makes the message invisible by hiding it within normal content.
How do I use the steganography tool?
Visit our Steganography page. You can hide a secret message within cover text, or extract hidden messages from suspicious text. The tool uses advanced techniques to embed messages invisibly.
🔧 Technical Support
The tool isn't working properly. What should I do?
1. Try refreshing the page
2. Clear your browser cache
3. Check if JavaScript is enabled
4. Try a different browser
5. If the problem persists, contact us with details about your browser and the issue.
Can I use this on mobile devices?
Yes! Our tools are fully responsive and work great on smartphones and tablets. You can even install the app on your mobile device for quick access.
Do you plan to add more ciphers?
Absolutely! We regularly add new ciphers and features. If you have suggestions for specific ciphers or tools you'd like to see, please let us know.
